Moon Gazing....

Remember the telescope Santa brought the Wilkins family for Christmas? Well tonight we used it for the first time. VERY COOL!

It took some time to set it up just right.


Double check...make absolutely sure.


The girls waited so nicely.


The view was amazing! Abigail really liked seeing the craters. Elizabeth thought it was just plain cool...I did too!

Beaver Lake

Megan and I took Layla and Elizabeth on an adventure yesterday. We went for a hike on post at Beaver Lake. This is one of my favorite places. It was the first hiking path we discovered that kept us protected from the blazing sun during the summer months. We also enjoyed a trip there with the Poydras family when they visited last winter.

Full of energy when we started out....

Layla wasn't too sure of the bridge...


But she was sure she could read the trail sign. They were both so serious.....


The girls enjoyed sips of water from the lids.

The rest of the trip...

Sorry...I've been feeling really lazy. Here are some other pics from the trip to Tallahassee.

Driving through Tallahassee is really beautiful. This is one of the canopy streets in town.

Wakulla Springs

The family packed up New Years Day and headed to Tallahassee to visit Miss Judy for a couple of days. What a great time...this will be the first post of a few from the trip.

We visited Wakulla Springs. What a neat place. We went to the top of the diving platform and saw four Manatee swimming around.


This was the best shot I could get....sorry!


And Cypress knees....I'd never seen them before.


Elizabeth decided she loved the Cypress knees.


Both girls liked the vines in the trees.


Judy tried really hard to avoid the camera....but here she is!

OK so in addition to being really beautiful Wakulla springs is also the filming location for some movies beginning in the 1930's with the last one in 1976.

I got pictures of a couple of the posters they had up....

Yep, Tarzan. This one and Tarzan's New York Adventure.


And my personal favorite....


The actor who was supposed to play the creature took one look at the water, manatee and crocs and left. The movie producers ended up hiring a local life guard to play the part.
