Remember a few months back when Abigail painted this for a neighbors grand baby....



Well little Anna Catherine came to visit her Grandma and Grandma brought her to meet us.

Abigail came out to meet her.


And just because I couldn't resist....

"When I grow up I want to be an Iron Chef"

That's what EG is telling me these days. A while back we saw deep dish Chicago Style pizza on the food network. Then this happened....

The dough has to knead for 7 minutes. I think she stood there the entire time.


After a night in the refrigerator we had this.


The girls wanted "regular" and deep dish pizza.


They built their own.

Starting with the cheese...lots of cheese

Sausage, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. All precooked so our pizza wasn't too soggy.


Topped with sauce.


And baked to perfection!

A bit tricky to get out of the pan...maybe we should have let it cool a bit more but we were hungry!

This is the most recent picture. She was sitting in the kitchen watching me cook. I pulled out the camera and she did this....

Second only to tennis....she is really having a good time playing basketball. She has a great coach, and great teammates.

Bolognese with the big girl

Christmas break has come to an end for Abigail...EG, however, doesn't go back to school until next week. So when it was time to get the bolognese sauce together for tonight's dinner EG was ALL OVER IT! Brian and I love to cook with the girls...it can make things take a bit longer and can sometimes be unnerving to sit by while they chop with big knives but it is sooooo worth it!

Milk, white wine, and water


We added some rib roast cubes that we had in the freezer from Christmas dinner and with everything in the pot, simmering beautifully, EG was off to play for the day...


Hours later....

Back in the kitchen to put on the finishing touches. EG adds the pasta to the boiling water.


We prepared one of our favorite salads. Roma tomatoes, sweet onion, iceberg lettuce, and bleu cheese dressing.


Magnificent!


It really was...


We sat down to a wonderful meal


That made Abigail a bit nutty
