Boo!

Happy Halloween! We had a blast trick-or-treating with the Wade family this year. We went on post. Then off to the YMCA for some indoor activities. On the way home we stopped off in Shell Landing, a favorite place to trick-or-treat for the families in Enterprise.

Let's start with the costumes.

The girls had a blast carving pumpkins with dad. Elizabeth wouldn't touch the "guts" no matter how many times Abigail offered to let her...

Undefeated

Abigail has had a great soccer season. She has really enjoyed playing. Last year her team only won one game but this year her team was undefeated. We are hoping for a team somewhere in the middle next time. It's just no fun to go in knowing the outcome before the game...we want to work for the win (Abigail's words). The playoffs are Saturday. Wish her well!

Happy Birthday Abigail!

When we were in Portland we enjoyed going to Pho' Van in Northeast Portland. The Pho' (rhymes with duh) was one of Abigail's all time favorites. It's a seemingly simple soup of rice noodles and beef broth with your choice of different kinds of meat. You could doctor it up with sprouts, basil, lime, red chili sauce or hosin sauce if you so desire. Yummmy. Since moving to Alley Bammy we haven't had any due to the lack of Vietnamese restaurants. Brian and I decided it would be a nifty treat to make for Abigail's birthday dinner. We did a portion of our shopping online because some of the ingredients were not available here in the wiregrass. It took the online shopping and a special order from the Winn Dixie but we got everything we needed to make our Pho'...

6lbs of marrow bones.

Brian got me these for my birthday. I love that it's October and they are still blooming!

What a day!

It's fall in the wiregrass and the festivals are everywhere. Peanuts are a big thing here so most of what we did centered around nuts...how fitting. The husbands had to work today so all the girls (me, Megan, Layla, Abigail and Elizabeth) headed out for a day of festival frolicking.

This was me for what seemed like most of the day.

First stop...Nuts about Mutts

Nutty little dog.

The only reason we knew this fund raising event was going on was because of Thomas (Megan's husband). He's a K9 MP and they did a demonstration at this event. It was cool.

Thomas and Micki

Did I mention he's a killer?
Photobucket

The girls loved it! OK, Elizabeth not so much.
Photobucket

On our way out we ran into this guy. His name is Sterling and he was a giant! He didn't even have to strain to say hello to me face to face in my van window.
Photobucket

Horse!

Off to the Fall Festival in downtown Enterprise.

They decorated the Boll Weevil Monument.

I decorated Abigail and Elizabeth.

We ran into Ashley, Abigail's friend from school. Aren't they sweet!

Then we headed north to Brundidge for the Peanut Butter Festival. This is the one I really wanted to see. They have the Brundidge Peanut Butter Museum listed as a place to visit in the front of the wiregrass yellow pages. The museum is only open one day a year for the Peanut Butter Festival. I missed it by one weekend last year and have been itchin to go for the last 51 weeks.

It was a really great day.

Oh yeah. We saw Roger from The Biggest Loser Couples at the Subway in Enterprise. Did y'all know he was from here? And because I'm a loser I begged Megan to snap his picture...I was too chicken to talk to him.
